Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: July 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all servicing, MOT testing, repairs, diagnostics, maintenance work and parts supplied by M4 Service & MOT Centre (“we”, “us”, “our”), together with the use of our website.

By booking work with us, leaving your vehicle with us or using our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation.

1. Estimates & Additional Work

All quotations and estimates are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time.

During inspection or dismantling, additional faults may become apparent that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.

Where reasonably practicable, we will contact you and obtain your authorisation before carrying out any additional chargeable work.

2. Repairs

We will only carry out work authorised by you.

Where additional work becomes necessary during the repair, we will seek your approval before proceeding unless immediate action is required to make the vehicle safe or prevent further damage and we are unable to contact you after making reasonable attempts.

3. Parts

All parts supplied remain the property of M4 Service & MOT Centre until payment has been received in full.

Unless requested before work begins, removed parts will be disposed of responsibly. Parts replaced under warranty or exchange arrangements cannot be returned to customers.

Where we agree to fit customer-supplied parts, we cannot guarantee their quality, suitability or compatibility. Our responsibility is limited to the workmanship involved in fitting those parts.

4. Diagnostics

Modern vehicles contain complex electronic systems and some faults may be intermittent.

Diagnostic inspections identify faults based on the symptoms present at the time of testing and further investigation may occasionally be required.

Diagnostic charges apply whether or not further repairs are authorised.

5. MOT Testing

MOT tests are carried out in accordance with DVSA standards and represent the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection.

An MOT certificate does not guarantee the future condition, reliability or roadworthiness of the vehicle.

If repairs are required following an MOT inspection, we will provide a quotation before carrying out any additional work.

6. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work and before the vehicle is released unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

We accept payment by debit card, credit card and bank transfer.

We do not retain customers’ debit card, credit card or bank account details.

Where payment is not made, we reserve the right to retain the vehicle until payment has been received, where permitted by law.

7. Collection of Vehicles

We will notify you when your vehicle is ready for collection.

Vehicles should be collected promptly.

Vehicles left uncollected for more than 7 days after notification may incur reasonable storage charges unless agreed otherwise.

If a vehicle remains uncollected for an extended period, we reserve the right to exercise our legal rights under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 after giving appropriate notice.

8. Customer Responsibilities

Please remove all valuables and personal belongings before leaving your vehicle with us.

Where applicable, please provide locking wheel nut keys, security codes or any other items required to complete the work.

Customers should ensure there is sufficient fuel in the vehicle where road testing is necessary.

Whilst reasonable care will always be taken, we cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings left inside the vehicle.

9. Road Testing

Where necessary, authorised members of our team may road test vehicles before or after repairs to diagnose faults, verify repairs or ensure the vehicle is operating safely.

10. Warranty

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we guarantee our workmanship for 6 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Replacement parts supplied by us are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

This warranty does not cover:

This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights.

11. If You Have a Concern

If you believe there is an issue with work carried out by us, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable.

We ask that you give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and, where appropriate, rectify any fault before repairs are carried out by another repairer.

Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights.

12. Limitation of Liability

We will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with accepted industry standards.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to the above, our liability shall be limited to repairing or replacing defective workmanship or parts supplied by us, or refunding the amount paid for the relevant work, where this is the appropriate remedy.

We shall not be responsible for:

13. Website Terms

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
